Adding external Analog Sensors

Adding external Analog Sensors

One external analog sensor can be connected to the Kniwwelino through the A0 pin available on the outer area. The analog A0 pin is capable of measuring voltages from 0-5v.
To work with such a Sensor, you need additional material: an analog sensor (potentiometer e.g.), as well as wire to create a closed circuit using the pins of the Kniwwelino.

Adding external buttons

External buttons are buttons which can be connected to the Kniwwelino in addition to the buttons A and B already available on the board. Similarily as for the LEDs (cf. Adding external LEDs), those are connected through the pins on the outer area.

Adding external I2C Sensors

The Kniwwelino Board features a 4-pin connector which is using the I2C protocol (I²C). This protocol allows you to connect various different sensors (up to 127 at once)

Connecting the Sensor

The I2C connector on the Kniwwelino as well as all supported I2C sensors have the following four pins:

External LEDs are LEDs which can be connected to the Kniwwelino through the pins available on the outer area. To work with such LEDs, you need additional material: the LEDs in the color(s) of your choice, as well as wire to create a closed circuit using the pins of the Kniwwelino.

Adding external Sensors

External sensors can be connected to the Kniwwelino through the pins available on the outer area. Most Sensors need to be connected to the GND and 3.3V pins of the Kniwwelino, as well as one or more of the outer pins on the lower outer side of the Kniwwelino. Please see the specific sensor section for more details.

Adding external Neopixel (WS2812) LEDs

Connecting the Neopixel (WS2812) LEDs

There are plenty of different versions of Neopixel and WS2812 boards/strips available. They all work more or less the same.
Normally the first LED of a board or strip is accessible via the DI pin. The DO output pin of the first LED is connected to the DI input of the next LED. That way all LEDs are connected in a row. You can address them by counting the number of LED - the first LED is number 0.

Adding a servo

Connecting a servo with alligator clips

You need:

	* 1 standard servo
	* 3 wires with an alligator clip on one end and a male jumper on the other end (in black, red, and orange/yellow)

To connect the servo:

	* Plug the wires to the connector of the servo: black to brown, red to red, yellow to orange.
